Many people who have decided to enter into a Civil Partnership would like to celebrate this commitment before God but it can be difficult to find a church in which to do this or a clergy-person who is willing to preside at such a celebration. Realising this need, as an Anglican priest, I would be happy to talk with you about how I can help.
Whilst a Civil Partnership must be signed in front of a registrar and two witnesses in a licensed building, a couple are quite free to organise whatever subsequent celebration they wish - even an exchange rings can be done later. Any form of subsequent celebration (including readings, music, poetry etc) can be designed to suit your wishes and I have a number of 'templates' which might be of help. We would need to meet to talk this through, probably two or three times, and it would be ideal if I could visit the place where you intend to hold the celebration.
I don't charge a fee but leave it up to the couple to decide what honorarium would be appropriate (many offering this ministry ask for a fee upwards of £200) plus possible travelling costs if I have to travel outside London.
